After three disappointing seasons under head coach Stephen Silas, the Houston Rockets are ready to go in a different direction.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Silas will be on his way out as coach of the Rockets as the franchise looks to hire him to take the next step.

He hasn't pitched primarily in Houston since he took over in 2020.

Despite accumulating some talented young pieces, the Rockets have gone 58-177 with Silas and their development has stalled.

Prior to the hiring of Silas, Houston had been to the postseason in each of the previous eight seasons.

Of course, with an improved roster led by James Harden and Chris Paul.

Unfortunately, the expected improvement has not happened in recent years.

one of the most stable franchises in Western history is in the woods as they look to take the next step.
